Well, hopefully you all got through tax time ok, and if you didn't get your pinkslip, your next chance is in DETROIT this weekend at the Motor City Music Conference. The Pinkslips are among 400 bands selected from 2,000 to showcase at the MC2. Their showcase is Friday night at The Bellmont. In other news, The 'Slips just wrapped up a very successful east coast- thanks to all who came out- check out the press section for updates! The Pinkslips' debut on national television on Fox's Ambush Makeover where Leigh get's her hair ruined by dying it a very strange color (must see to find out!!!) will air MAY 27. Check local listings for times. Also, some of the Pinkslips songs are being used in an online interactive mystery/adventure reality game that is part of an Audi ad campaign. 1.24.04 Welcome to our new website! The city above is lil' ole Raleigh NC. We've added some great upcoming shows so check out the shows page. Tsunami Benefit in Raleigh is Feb 5th- come check out 18 of the best local bands for a suggested donation of $10, and help us make this a sucess for the victims overseas.

12/8/04: The Pinkslips are lining up a whole lot of shows in the new year so check the calendar often. If you live in DC, Philly, Brooklyn or New York, look for us in your neck of the woods! Our next show is at Bickett Gallery's festive shopping event Le Laissez-"Fair" on Thursday December 16th from 3pm-10pm. We will have creative merch out all day with some never-before seen items, and the music begins at 10pm. DJ Madcow will be spinning the finest tunes all day during the event, so stop by early to check him out as well. And come help us ring in the new year at Chapel Hill's Carolina Brewery- rumor has it that The Pinkslips will perform their mythical rendition of Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby One More Time", along with some other very specail covers to spice up the night!

11/14/04: We just confirmed a New Year's Eve gig at The Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill.

11/8/04: Now that we've recovered from Halloween, we were going to take some time off to come up with new material- but some great shows came along that we didn't want to pass up, so check out our updated tour calendar. 10/20/04 We've overhauled the whole site a bit- we've added a link to our MySpace profile, as well as a page for our street team, an EPK, and a way for you to join our mailing list! Oh, and if we haven't mentioned it before, the Pinkslips are once again a 3 piece (We have been for months now. Erin went back to school).
10/15/04 WE'RE BACK ONLINE! sorry, due to a small war with TWC, our webmistress was booted offline for a month, but now we are back and better than ever!!! We have a lot of show updates so please check out the tour page! Also, we were featured in a newslink on The White Stripes' fansite www.tripletremelo.com, so check it out! Our next gig is outside at Pullen Park in Raleigh at the second day of the Democracy Fest being sponsored by WKNC 88.1. We take the stage at noon, so come out and help us make it a fun day! We've started a "street team" to help us promote shows in various towns when we are on tour. We are calling it our Pinkslips' Girl Squad, however boys can be members too of course. Email us if you'd like to joing Da' Squad! We will be updating a lot of things on the site soon so check back often :)
9/17/04: We've added a lot of last minute shows lately. We'll be playing a benefit for the battered women's shelter in Raleigh next Tuesday, Sept. 21st at 6pm at Cafe Luna. Tickets are sold in advance and might be sold out. We also just added a show at Kings next Saturday the 26th with The Bleeding Hearts and others! For all other shows that we've had scheduled for a while now (such as fast approaching gigs in Carborro and Durham, check out our tour page).
  As some of you know, lead singer/bassist Leigh of our band was recently "Ambush Makeovered" by some friendly folks at Fox Network. You know what she looked like before. Come check out the "after" at one of our upcoming gigs. The show will air in December sometime. We'll keep you posted.

Ok yeah we have had a major website overhall. We are getting ready to play a BUNCH of shows, have TONS of new songs, and we're traveling to RHODE ISLAND and NYC the last two weeks of august! Meanwhile, listen up for us on local radio stations WKNC, WXDU, and WXYC. Also, we've got a couple of new reviews, check it out!

The Pinkslips have had some great shows so far this year. Thanks to Tom Arnell and Carborro Day for having us last week! We are currenlty taking some time to learn new material and will be booking more shows for late May/June. We had an awesome show at The Cave with Jett Rink, and a pretty good show at Ringside in Durham last Saturday. We're getting ready to play Bickett Gallery again this Saturday with The Vivaldis, a cute little boy band. We are in the process of trying to make our cd easier to get. You can purchase it at Schoolkids and at Boots & Toddie in Raleigh (located in 5 points). WXDU started spinning us last week and we debuted at #16 out of 100 so thankyou XDU!!!!
3/8/04 Well, Bickett Gallery and Kings went pretty well. Thanks to eveyone for coming out to Bickett and making it so cozy. Sorry to C.J. at Kings 'cause we played too long. Our EP is finally out and we are trying to get it into your local record stores as you read this at this exact very moment, so snoop around next week. Or come to our show this Friday with Jett Rink and buy it straight off us. Thanks to all the photogs that came to our shows, now we have some nice new shots in our gallery so check them out. Exciting summer projects are afoot. more later....
2/15/04 Valentines day show went great. We are anxiously awaiting our EP to get back from the printer. Tour is in the works and we are workign up more new songs. Beth got to meet some of her idols yesterday- The Zombies! Check out our homepage for a cute pic of her with the 60s rockers. We are posting a lyrics page as well as flier art as soon as the webmistress musters the energy.

Our special Valentine's Day show is coming up Feb. 14th at The Cave in Chapel Hill and we are excited because we are planning specail treats, costumes, and musicalities for your enjoyment.

For you Raleigh folks that don't want to make the 20min drive to the Hill to see us, we just added a show Feb. 27th at the chic Bickett Gallery. The sound isn't the greatest there but the atmosphere makes up for it and it is always a fun time. The girls have a lot of new material to spring on you, so come out and rock with us! Oh, and be the first to get a copy of our new EP!

 

1/20/04 We've added new photos and video clips from the Great Cover Up gig (where we covered some Runaways tunes) as well as video from our show last night at the CARE benefit for animals at the Pboro general store. Check out the media section for these treats.
1/09/04 The Pinkslips will be doing a radio interview at WKNC 88.1 Friday sometime between 4 and 6 pm. Tune in and get informed.
1/06/04 The Pinkslips just signed on to play the WKNC 88.1 benefit at King's January 16th and 17th. Many other great local bands such as The Greatest Hits, and Strange will be playing this event. Check out WKNC's website to get more info. Listen to the station and maybe you'll catch one of our songs off our new EP, or call in and request us :)!
1/02/04 Happy New Year! This is the one year anniversary of our first show at the Cave in Chapel Hill! Thanks mouse! The girls are getting ready to break their month long hiatus and are scheduled to play in Pittsboro for a good cause- check out the shows page for details.
