BIO

The Pinkslips- a quirky power trio of femme-fatale-indie-blues-rock that has more in common with bands like the 5,6,7,8's and That Dog than the Go Gos (although they are often compared to all three)! They hail from the Triangle region of NC, not claiming loyalty to Raleigh or Chapel Hill's mythological musical scenes, but loving and playing both.

A young band - barely 2 years old - The Pinkslips have been on something of a rock odyssey since their 2002 debut at The Cavern Tavern in Chapel Hill to 200+ curious fans. The girls just returned from the NEMO 2004 music conference in Boston where they showcased at TT the Bear's Club and generated significant buzz throughout the 2 day festival. Next up is their network TV premier on Fox's "Ambush Makeover" this winter, and spring East Coast touring on the heels of their latest release, a single entitled "Jackfight" which is already garnering great reviews like the NCAA's publication The Collegiate Standard's cover nod and article.

The Pinkslips have toured as far North as NYC and as far West as Austin, TX. They came together when Leigh Fox (lead vox, bass, guitar, songwriting) placed an add in The Independent, a NC magazine, to "start a girl band". Beth Turner (guitar, vox, bass) responded, and Elizabeth "The Hammer" Hammond (drums, vox) soon signed on. The girls learned to play together, and Fox emerged as the predominant songwriter, however as the group has grown all three girls are beginning to share in songwriting duties.

The Pinkslips fire up audiences with passionate, rough-edges rock, obvious on-stage chemistry, and "blue-eyed" songwriting. The girls are made to play hard and have fun, and if you catch them live, you are sure to as well!
